Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor has grown up in Mumbai and is, therefore, a big fan of Mumbai Indians in the TATA IPL. The star cast of the movie ‘Jersey’ arrived at the Cricket Live show on Star Sports ahead of the match between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants to promote their upcoming movie, Jersey. Shahid stated that Mumbai Indians is the team of Mumbaikars and every citizen of the city firmly believes that this team will go far in the TATA IPL 2022, despite having a turbulent start.
While speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports, Shahid said, “Mumbai is a city of self-made people. Everyone who comes here with big dreams eventually ends up fulfilling them with hard work. So you will have to go through some grinding to prove yourself if you are representing this city in TATA IPL. The players who sport Mumbai Indians’ jerseys also understand this because they know that they are representing some very special people. That is the spirit of this city and of this team as well. I am proud to be a Mumbaikar and I say that with conviction that Mumbai Indians are not going to give up easily.”
Shahid claimed that the film which he has come to promote is all about second chances. The actor – who essays the character of a senior domestic cricketer in the movie – said it is Mumbai Indians’ turn to make the second chances count.
Shahid said on Cricket Live on Star Sports, “My upcoming film is all about second chances. The message this movie gives is that if you fail once in life, it doesn’t matter, life gives you second chances and you need to grab them. Mumbai Indians are exactly on the same boat. This team didn’t play well in the first phase but we believe they will not give up. This team has done it before and if it has done it before then nothing can stop them from repeating it.”
