Masoom, directed by Shekhar Kapur, is a cinematic gem that transcends box office numbers. Released in 1983, it’s a timeless story of love, forgiveness, and family. Its enduring value isn’t measured in box office figures but in the emotional resonance it brings to audiences across generations. This classic film touches hearts and continues to leave a profound impact, making it a testament to the enduring power of storytelling and emotional connection in cinema.

Earlier, the auteur took his feelings to Instagram and expressed, “The word for home in Hindi is Ghar .. for House is Makaan .. and I’m trying hard to find a Hindi word for Property, a word that holds even a tiny amount of emotion? So how do you value your home? As a store house of emotion, of memories, of lives lived, of children born? Memories of festivities and of laughter and of tears.
Or as a mere house, or property or real estate? Then when did a home become a house, a house became property, a property real easte .. when did emotional value turn into monetary value?

Our world is obsessed by Value .. monetary value. Oppenheimer vs Barbie .. which higher at Box Office .. the quality of the film comes later . Is Gaddar 2 or Pathan or Bahubali bigger at box office ?I have no idea of the box office of Masoom .. or it’s monetary value .. except that Masoom , the film’s , value lies in that generations after generations watch the film , are moved by it, affected by it ..I measure Masoom in it’s emotional value. It’s bank of emotion that people feel generation after generation ..Have we as a society forgotten to assess value from the heart rather than always as money in the bank Emotion Value”
