Shershah: Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani kickstarts shooting for Vikram Batra biopic

The success of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike made it quite evident that war films were back in trend. No wonder, quite a few films based on wars like Bhuj: The Pride Of India, Kargil Girl and Arun Khetarpal biopic were announced soon after. Amidst all this, Sidharth Malhotra’s film based on Vikram Batra was struggling to see the daylight. But it finally got a green signal and the makers announced the title of the film on Saturday, May 4. And now the good news is that Shershah has gone on floors.

Along with Sidharth, Kiara Advani was also present for the commencement of the shoot. But what made the occasion really special was the presence of Lt Gen Y K JOSHI (then Lt Col) who was the Commanding officer of 13 JAK Rifles during the 1999 Kargil War. Apart from him, Vikram’s twin brother Vishal Batra was also present at the venue for the mahurat shot. He posed with the entire team and everyone was all smiles for the shutterbugs. For those of you who don’t know, Captain Batra sacrificed his life during the Kargil War and played a huge part in India’s victory over Pakistan. The film will be produced by Dharma Productions and Aiyaary actor Sidharth Malhotra will be essaying the role of this courageous man.
