Shocking! Zarine Khan fights a molestor at an event where she was mobbed – watch video

Zarine Khan hits out at a man who tried to touch her inappropriately at an event

Published at

A video of Zarine Khan where she is hitting a man has gone viral. The incident occurred last year on December 14 in Aurangabad, where Zarine was attending an event. The actress was mobbed while making her way back to the car after attending a mobile store launch in the city. In spite of the heavy security, the crowd around her got unruly, and while she was being escorted to her waiting car, some people from the crowd reached out and tried to grab her inappropriately. But the actress was quick to react. Instead of waiting for the security to take charge, Zarine turned around and started hitting them back.

When contacted, Zarine shared, “The crowd was huge and the security was unable to control them. The organisers called the police to intervene and take charge. But in all this chaos, some men tried to touch me inappropriately, but got hit back in return.” The feisty actress added that at that point, all you are thinking of is how to protect yourself. “Actress or not, I’m a woman first, and I have a right to defend myself. My safety and my security are in my hands. I don’t care ki main kahaan hoon aur kaun mujhe dekh raha hai. You mess with me, I’ll hit back.” Check the video!

She added, “I think that action needs to be taken right then and there. It’s the only way to deal with such situations. I think this entire mentality of taking women for granted comes from knowing that they will get away with their misbehaviour. But I can’t take wrong lying down, never have, and never will.” She continued, “Sometimes we have to take matters in our own hands, not worrying about  how it may look. As a woman, I have always believed that you have to give it back to anybody who tries to molest or misbehave with you, whether it’s behind closed doors or in public! Just because I am a public figure, doesn’t mean I don’t notice or feel unsafe, nobody has the right to touch me or grab me in an inappropriate way. I am a woman first and every woman deserves to live, work and be in an environment which is equally safe for her as any man!”

She’s equally vocal about the #MeToo movement. “It started with such intensity, but somewhere, I feel it got overshadowed by weddings and Diwali parties, and unfortunately, that’s how these things are, they seem to get pushed to the backseat. And the wrongdoings continue. I believe that the action has to be taken then and there. You mess up, you will get hit back, as simple as that.”

Unfortunately, this is not the first such incident in Bollywood. Facing unruly crowds especially at events, is a nightmare for any actress, and most have been misbehaved with at some point or the other. There are also those who have dared to hit back right then and there. Bipasha Basu had once slapped a fan who had tried to misbehave with her. Esha Deol too had slapped a man when he tried to get too close to her at an event in Pune. Rhea Chakraborty used self-defence techniques to fight back a molestor near her house, and then got him arrested.

Sonam Kapoor’s co-star Dhanush had stepped in to help escort her to safety when during a promotional event, the crowds could not be controlled and got too close to the actress. Katrina Kaif, Sushmita Sen too were reportedly mobbed while exiting from two different events separately. Minissha Lamba was reportedly misbehaved with publicly while shooting for a magazine in Goa. Gul Panag had spoken about being molested during a marathon in Delhi. Made in Heaven actor Sobhita Dhulipala who turns 28 today says she has never been a fan of elaborate birthday celebrations. ”This birthday will be an intimate affair. I’m going to cook a dish which my mum used to cook when I was a child. I’ll also read some poetry and listen to jazz music,” she adds.

Talking about the current situation, she says, “In this situation of Lockdown it has made us realise how fortunate we are — we just have to stay at home to protect ourselves, more so when we look at the situation of migrants in the country”

“It is just so hard to ignore the truth on the streets. It’s very convenient to forget how privileged we all are, because obviously we always tend to look at what we don’t have, and we aspire towards it, feeling ‘shit we are stuck at this point in our lives, itna karna hai, I have to earn this’. You forget the people who have so little!”

Expressing her helplessness on the plight of migrant workers, she says, “I think this whole migrant crisis is heartbreaking. I read about the lady who dies on the train, and the child walked around her body trying to wake her up. It was heart-wrenching.”

The former Bigg Boss-9 housemate shot Dollar wear-the- change commercial just before the lockdown was announced

Popular TV star-turned- Bollywood-actress Digangana Suryavanshi, who has this unique record of  two of her debut Hindi movies ‘Jalebi’ and ‘FryDay’  releasing on the same day, seemed to be in an upbeat  euphoric mood.

Despite the ongoing stay-at-home confinement’  That’s because the ‘Dollar’ consumer product ad-commercial which she shot with mega-star Akshay Kumar is now out and is being widely appreciated  by  viewers.   Shares the articulate Digangana, speaking exclusively to CineBlitz,, “Working with Akshay Kumar -Sir was truly amazing. Fortunately, we had shot this ad film a few days before the lockdown. And what’s really amusing and amazing to me is that in the ad I am referred to as the ‘Princess’, which also happens to be the name that my fans fondly gave me. So, there’s that special element to it.

She further says, “In fact it’s my first ad film, and I’m so glad that it was with none other than Akshay-sir . who is known for his consistent super-hit box-office success records,  that too experimenting with diverse contrasting lead roles,  What a charismatic presence. Yet he is so extremely grounded. I’d love to work with him again, in a Hindi movie. Hopefully very soon,’’she smiles.

Since optimistic Digangana has experienced the ‘Bigg Boss-9’ spacious house and garden-area confinement few years ago, she was apparently aware, as to how to creatively reconcile with a ‘lockdown’ situation. .Minus the volatile showdown conflicts, of course. Elaborates the style-savvy ‘Hippi’ actress, “Although the reason for social lockdown is absolutely unfortunate, I think it’s given us all a lot of time to introspect. I’ve always been a creative person, and since I’m getting time being off shoots right now, Am investing my time in catching up with my hobbies. I haven’t had the time to paint since a long time, and now that I do, I’ve created quite a few classy artworks. Am exploring my musical side as well.Even written stories and a song about Covid-19 and expressed my outlook on the current situation. Spending lots of ‘quality-time’ conversing with both my parents at home and on cell-phone with my outstation relatives,” shares Digangana. The actress who has been working in  Southside big-banner regional movies, last year, is now discreetly gearing up to also feature in her fourth Hindi movie with a top-male star, very soon.
