Shraddha Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan to play pati-patni in the Pati Patni Aur Woh remake? Read exclusive details

Shraddha Kapoor is in talks to play the role essayed by Vidya Sinha; will be paired opposite Kartik Aryan

If all goes well, then Shraddha Kapoor may soon be seen playing the patni in the remake of Pati, Patni Aur Woh. The original 1978 film starred Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur. We have learnt that Shraddha has been approached by the filmmakers to play the part of the wife made memorable by Vidya Sinha in the original. An insider says, “While Kartik Aaryan may in all likelihood play Sanjeev Kumar’s role in the film, the makers are very keen to have Shraddha play the wife. They are currently in talks with the actress and are waiting for her to give a nod.”

The film revolved around a middle-aged man who gets embroiled in an affair with his secretary and gets into a trouble when his wife finds out about it. Producer Juno Chopra is planning to remake this comedy based on extra-marital affairs, that was originally helmed by his grandfather BR Chopra. They had also earlier remade the Yash Chopra suspense thriller Ittefaq in 2017 with Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha. Inside sources reveal that the filmmakers felt that the theme of the film is very contemporary and resonates with today’s generation as well. They want to give it a very Gen-Now feel, which will be very
fresh, and the approach to the theme will also be dealt with keeping in mind contemporary times. So, it can’t really be called an exact remake. The plan is to introduce many new elements. The film is expected to go on floors by February.

As for the third angle of the triangle, our info tells us that the makers are yet to zero in on the second actress. As it stands right now, in all likelihood the film will have Kartik and Shraddha paired together for the first time. And the makers apparently want to explore this fresh jodi on screen. They are still looking for an actress to play Ranjeeta’s role. Well, what do you think of this new Jodi on screen. Share your opinion in the comments section below.
