We haven’t seen much of Sonakshi Sinha on the big screen after she starred in Happy Bhaag Jayegi Returns last August, barring a special appearance in Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se. And in spite of two big releases last year the actress failed to make an impact at the box office. But looks like she is trying to make up for a dull 2018 this year. The actress has a biggie Kalank lined up which she recently wrapped shooting for. Post this she is already set to start her next film that goes on floor from January 25 in Punjab. The yet-to-be-titled film brings together a bunch of talented actors like Varun Sharma, Annu Kapoor, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Nadira Babbar in key roles as well.
The cast and crew have already begun to prep for the same and are also starting to finalise their looks for the film. It will be directed by debutant filmmaker Shilpi Dasgupta and is written by Gautam Mehra. The movie is based in Hoshiyarpur (Punjab), where Sonkashi will be seeing playing a happy-go-lucky Punjabi girl who adores her family and for her, her family is more important than living out her dreams.
About her role in the film, Sonakshi shared, “I am extremely happy to be part of this film which is so close to the world around us. To step into the shoes of a small-town girl, and face the hilarious, madcap challenges thrown at her would be interesting. The film is full of flavour, fun and emotions; I am so looking forward to begin this journey.” Well, let’s hope Sonakshi surprises us with yet another hit soon. What do you think?
