The song Azadi from Gully Boy is out and it is legit. The film is right now garnering praise at the Berlinale 2019, where it got its first premiere. Meanwhile the song Azadi released today leaving the Indian audiences more excited.

Gully Boy’s music album is unique and fresh for the Indian audience. The lyrics of the song Azadi talk about consumerism and the imbalance in society it causes. Ranveer Singh’s acting and Dub Sharma and Divine’s words together create an impact which will stay with you a long long time. The song’s audio is already launched in a jukebox. The video for Azadi was much awaited as it is one of the most loved songs on the playlist, and the video is worth the wait. Talking about the imbalance in society, the video shows the life of slum-dwellers struggling for even basic amenities, be it the water supply or living space. It is a bold take on hardcore realisitic scenario. Written and sung by Dub and Devine, the vocals are backed by Ankur Tiwari who, according to director Zoya Akhtar, has contributed the most in terms of the music of the film. Though the audio version begins with Kanhaiya Kumar’s voice which is missing in the video, whether it will be present in the film is yet to be seen.

 

Starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin in the lead roles, Gully Boy will release on February 14. The film had a premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival 2019 and the audiences there have already called the film a masterpiece. The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment in association with Tiger Baby.
