Late actress Sridevi’s film Mom released in China last week (May 10) and the film did an amazing business on the first day. The film earned higher than Ayushmann Khurrana’s Andhadhun on day one, and maintained its success streak through the first weekend as well. The film has crossed Rs 40 crore in the first weekend and is already aiming at the Rs 50 crore milestone.
The late superstar Sridevi’s last film as the lead, Mom had released in India in 2017. A top-notch thriller, the film was acclaimed critically and by the audience as well. Now that the film has released in China, it is garnering the same kind of appreciation and has managed to do good business at the Chinese box office as well. The film that earned Rs 11.47 crore on the first day of its release now after the weekend stands at Rs 41.81 crore. The film is at a fast pace and seems like the 50 crore mark is not far away.
Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film stars Sridevi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sajal Ali. An edge-of-the-seat thriller the film is getting thumbs-up across.
