Suhana Khan debuts with Netflix’s The Archies; here’s what father SRK wished her

“From renting the Archie’s digest for 25 Paise per day from book rental stores to seeing Zoya Akhtar making this come alive on screen…” Shah Rukh Khan tweeted this morning ‘wishing the little ones the best’ amongst whom is his daughter Suhana Khan making her debut along with Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agaysta Nanda and Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor along with Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda. Suhana is playing Veronica, Khushi with her bangs and Agastya is the curly haired Archie with hints of red.

Suhana Khan has been anticipating her acting debut for a while now. While Aryan Khan chose to work behind the camera like his mother, Suhana always wanted to follow her father. Speaking of her career plans she had said that she didn’t ’t think there were any moments when she had particularly decided to act. Ever since she was young, she practiced it although her parents realised it when they themselves saw her act for the first time when she played Miranda from The Tempest in school.

Praising his daughter on Instagram Shah Rukh wrote, “Remember @suhanakhan2 you are never going to be perfect….but being yourself is the closest to that. Archies is a popular comic based on Archie Andrews and his friends in the 60’s. Zoya Akhtar adapts the American comic for Netflix in an elite desi style. The Archies is a musical set in 60’s.

Netflix shared posts tweeting “The sun is out, the news is out! Come meet your new friends. Presenting to you the cast of The Archies, directed by the fantastic Zoya Akhtar.”

The film’s logline says “A musical experience bursting with youth, rebellion, friendships, first loves and everything young adult, still promises to have something for every generation. We can’t wait to see the new kids on the block!”

The Archies will stream on Netflix in 2023.
