Swara Bhaskar registers defamation case against troll with the help of Mumbai Police – deets inside

Swara Bhaskar has been a no nonsense girl since day one. The Bollywood actress speaks her mind out, even if the topic could blow up into some controversy. And we totally respect her for that! However, like every celebrity, she also faces trolls on a day-to-day basis. But in her case, the trolling is extreme and we saw it recently, when a Twitter user by the name Deepak Tiwari (@dpk_tiwari 9) termed her a ‘call girl’. And you know why? Just because she supported Kanhaiya Kumar in the recently concluded Lok Sabha Elections 2019! Now, with the help of the Mumbai police, Swara Bhaskar has filed a defamation case against the troll.

For those of you who don’t know, Swara Bhaskar, on seeing the tweet, immediately alerted the Mumbai Police. She took a screenshot of the post and the Twitter user’s account. She posted it and wrote, “In his own words ‘mad, proud and fortunate nationalist & Hindu’ bringing shame upon his (and my) religion and nation! Also I think this qualifies as harassment or Eve teasing or something @MumbaiPolice”. The man immediately deleted the tweet, but the police took notice of it. They tweeted back from their official handle, “We have followed you. Request you to inbox your number. We will look into this on priority.”

From what we hear, Swara Bhaskar has now gone ahead and filed a complaint. In fact, the Versova police has also registered cases under the Indian Penal Code sections 500 (defamation) and 507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication). A case under the IT Act section 67 (Punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) has also been lodged.

According to our knowledge, the Versova police along with the cyber crime branch are trying to track down the person who posted the objectionable comment against Swara Bhaskar.
