The latest episode of Mixtape just released and it is a powerful melange of melody combined with two talented voices of Salim Merchant and Jonita Gandhi. In true Mixtape style, multiple talented instrumentalists were part of this melodic journey. The episode starts with a solo cello to set the mood of the song. Adding to the eccentric vibe, Salim and Jonita voices blend harmoniously and their chemistry on stage is a treat. In the video, they beautifully recreate two timeless songs Dil Mein Ho Tum from the movie Why Cheat India along with the record-breaking song Galliyan from Ek Villain.

Talking about a concept like MixTape Salim Merchant shared,I was a part of season 1 too and had no idea that it would receive such a tremendous response. I like properties like MixTape as it has created a different audience in itself. It allows us to express our music, vocals and represent the song in our own personality, which is really nice.”

Jonita Gandhi added, “This is feel-easy version. There are a lot of elements incorporated in terms of percussion, rhythm, strings. There is a cello solo in the beginning which is unique. We are going to be featuring amazing talent in terms of instrumentalists. This song has got a nice Bollywood feel to it which I like. Additionally, the song is very high. So finding the right key when more than one person is singing is a challenge. We had to find the key that suited Salim and me the best. Initially, it was a little tough for me to sing that high because I am not used to it anymore. If given an option I would prefer singing lower.”
