Taapsee Pannu to have a mega box office clash with Brie Larson in a Bollywood-Hollywood face off!

Come March 8 and the domestic box office will see Bollywood take on Hollywood. Clashing at the box office are Captain Marvel’s Brie Larson and Taapsee Pannu who has Badla releasing on the same date. Interestingly, the date also marks the International Women’s Day and it’s exciting to see two female stars take on each other at the BO. Now, considering the kind of films and roles that Taapsee has come to be associated with, she is no less than a desi superwoman. And now her Sujoy Ghosh film that also stars Amitabh Bachchan is releasing the same day as Captain Marvel which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The trailer has indicated that inspite of Bachchan, the film will see Taapsee in a rather powerful role. So, we ask Taapsee about this exciting clash. In an exclusive chat with CineBlitz, the actress reveals that she’s unfazed by it.

About taking on a superhero at the box office, Taapsee says that she is aware of the fan-base that MCU commands. “Well, yes Brie Larson is Captain Marvel, a superhero and I am aware of the super-powers she comes with on screen. I also know she has a global following. I am a fan of the MCU myself, so yes I hope people watch her film here. But I do hope that they watch Badla before they watch Captain Marvel,” she laughs. On a serious note she adds, that both the films have a certain audience and both can do well in spite of the clash. “The premise is different, the audience is different too. So I do hope both films do really well,” says Taapsee.

While Brie’s film belongs to the MCU which has a universal audience and is one of the most highly-anticipated films for the Marvel fans, Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla has been creating quite a stir too. The film sees the powerhouse performers – Bachchan and Taapsee – team up after their critically-acclaimed Pink. And Sujoy’s film is promising to be an intriguing thriller that already has been generating an interest. The slickly-cut trailer gives us a glimpse of what to expect and the audience have been giving it a thumbs up too. So, if Brie has superpowers, Taapsee besides her own acting prowess has Bachchan in the film! And yes, this will be one interesting takkar that we can’t wait to watch.
