The evergreen Tabu has made her mark with her impeccable work in the Indian Cinema. From delivering blockbusters to winning the prestigious National award and even the Padma Shri, there is nothing that this actress hasn’t achieved in her career. And now she will be honored at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. The film festival will pay tribute to the 47-year-old by kick-starting the event with the screening of her film Andhadhun. Known for the global showcase of path-breaking Indian Cinema, IFFLA will take place from April 11 to 14 this year. At the screening, Tabu will also interact and will indulge in a session of discussion.
Interestingly, Andhadhun is directed by IFFLA alumni Sriram Raghvan. The suspense thriller, which also stars Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead, not only impressed the critics but also wowed the audience when it came out in October last year. So much so that it went on become one of the highest grossing films of 2018. In the film, Tabu played the role of the antagonist and was absolutely terrific as a cold-hearted murderer. Her performance was lauded by one and all and it won’t be surprising if she sweeps away a lot of awards this year. Well, after so many hit films and brilliant performances, Tabu certainly deserves all the applause and appreciation, no? So we are glad that an actress like her is being honoured at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles.
Talking about the festival which is conducted for three days, it not only showcases Indian feature films but also short films as well. This year the line up includes Ritesh Batra’s Photograph, Ronny Sen’s Cat Sticks and Anamika Haksar’s Taking The Horse To Eat Jalebis. There are several categories in which the films will be screened and the festival is a one-stop destination to consume the best cinema of the year.
