The makers of Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have been dealing with one big question for the past few months – will Disha Vakanai aka Dayaben ever return to the show? This very question has been on everyone’s mind for a long time. In fact, it is one of the trending stories today. With ample speculation, there is only confusion about whether the actress will return to the show or not. Let us tell you, yesterday when we happened to get in touch with Disha Vakani, she disconnected our call after hearing this question. But just like all the viewers, even wanted an answer. And therefore today, we contacted her co-star Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal.

Before we tell you what Dilip told us, let us look at the latest rumour that has been doing the rounds. Apparently, Disha was given an ultimatum to return to the show by the makers. However, producer Asit Kumar Modi denied it when we got in touch with him. Also, media reports claim that a new Dayaben would soon appear on the show. Sad, isn’t it? Last week, we even told you how a spokesperson from the producer’s office told us that Dayaben’s absence hasn’t affected the show’s TRP. But it seems Dilip Joshi is missing his co-star. Yes, when we asked him who is his favourite from the cast, Dilip said its Daya and Baapuji. Talking about her return, Joshi said, “I am clueless about it, I don’t know what has been communicated between Asit Bhai and her. Disha is a fine artist; we have had some very good scenes together. But everyone has their priorities in life. She got married and then she had a child, so we can all be hopeful.”

It was also reported recently that Disha’s on-screen as well as real-life brother Mayur Vakani will also be quitting the show. But the actor refuted all the reports.
