Looks like the Shiv Sena is taking matters into their own hands while promoting Thackeray…

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thackeray, a biopic on the life of the late Shiv Sena supremo, has hit the screens today (January 25). And looks like it has started off decently! Being a film on a legendary leader, the film is witnessing people flocking to theatres in Maharashtra (the region it caters too). Everyone wants to see how Balasaheb’s life has been shown on the big screen. Shiv Sena members also went to watch the movie, while some were promoting it too. However, looks like they took matters into their own hands and created a ruckus at a theatre.
Shiv Sainiks protested against a cinema chain in Vashi after they found out that no poster of Thackeray was being displayed. They created a lot of noise and a heated discussion ensued with the helpless theatre employees. A video showcasing the protests also has gone viral. And we are as shocked as you! From what we hear, the owners of the theatre and Shiv Sena are having a dialogue currently. Surely, the political party will have it’s way. We will see at least a couple of Thackeray promotional items outside the cinema hall soon. What do you guys have to say about this latest development? Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thackeray is not new to controversy. Yesterday, director Abhijit Panse walked away from the screening in anger. The filmmaker alleged that he and his family were given poor rows in the front row, while he had asked for special seats to be booked for him. In an exclusive interaction with us, he told, “It is very personal, I’ll talk about it when the time is right.” Well, we hope Thackeray runs smooth in the theatres. In the meantime, stay tuned to Cine Blitz as we get you all the updates about Thackeray right here.
