The 90’s are back: Richa Chadha to feature in 90’s pulp movie inspired calendar.

Shakeela makers launch their first-of-its-kind, 90’s pulp movies-inspired calendar featuring Richa Chadha in 12 avatars! This is the first time a movie will have a dedicated calendar being launched, starring its central character. And mind you, this isn’t going to be the glamorous visual you thought it would be, but the calendar will have Richa Chadha posing in posters inspired by the cheesiest, quirkiest pulp films of the 90s. The whole idea is going to be absolutely hilarious, and it is the outcome of a great deal of thought, as a tribute to the genre of such films.

Each month has Richa posing in a new avatar with a completely made-up poster of a fictional movie name and elements thereafter. The calendar will be launched next week at an event in Mumbai. The calendar delivers a cheeky warning, that each of these images and posters have no semblance to any real-life-inspired-people or any other actual films; they are simply to be taken in light humour and are created to enjoy the world of Shakeela, (the adult film actress around who the film is based) from the late 90s.

Speaking about it, Richa said, “Tough our film is currently in post-production, we wanted to do something special ahead of the film’s release. The team thought we should pay this homage to Shakeela and the films that she has been a part of. The calendar is quirky and tongue-in-cheek, so we are aware many people may not understand it. But there’s an underbelly to cinema, and it often is crazy and colourful. I hope people find the humour we’ve expressed in this calendar and enjoy the world of these 90s pulp films!”
