The screening witnessed a roaring response and these inflatable theatres aim to screen 3 shows a day.
Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, says, “I want to thank this concept of Mobile Digital Movie theatre for bringing The Kashmir Files, a hard hitting film by Vivek Agnihotri, to Leh. I welcome this decision of these inflatable theatres to screen this film in Ladakh. This is indeed a great initiative where the people of Ladakh get access to watch films like this”.
Picturetime has brought several popular and acclaimed films to the mountains, and with The Kashmir Files’ unprecedented demand among the audience, it was about time that Picturetime took it to the farthest corners of the country.
“It’s a brilliant initiative from Picturetime. This particular film has to be seen by everyone. Ladakh lacks source of Entertainment. Except the inflatable theatre, there isn’t much. Our people here have been deprived of watching films like this. I’m glad that this space is being filled up by these inflatable theatres. We are so thankful and glad that they decided to screen Kashmir Files here in Leh,” Chief Executive Counsellor Tashi Gyalstan said in a statement here.
On bringing Kashmir Files to Ladakh, Sushil Chaudhary, Founder & CEO, Picturetime says : “it is our duty to take good art all across this country. Yet another moment of pride for us to take a film like Kashmir Files to Ladakh. Our journey of taking cinema to the interiors and remotes areas of the country, continues…”
The Kashmir Files, starring Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and Mithu Chakraborty, is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s. The film that released on March 11 has already crossed Rs 100 crores at the box office and is set to touch the Rs 150 crore mark, breaking several business records.
