There was a lot of buzz around filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s The Tashkent Files when it released on April 12. The film because of its sensitive nature fell into the lap of controversies and had to go through a few allegations as well. Emerging from all the road blocks and the charged political scenario during its release, the film has completed a successful 50 days run at the box office and the makers threw a party to celebrate the same.
The Tashkent Files is based on the mystery behind Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death. He was the second Prime Minister of independent India, and there are no proofs or reasons offered till date, for his mysterious death in 1966, in Tashkent in the Soviet Union.
The makers with cast of the film celebrated the success of the film and also marked the birthday celebration of one of the producers Haresh Patel’s birthday. The celebration was attended by Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Hrishita Bhatt, Durga Jasraj, Shweta Basu Prasad, Padmini Kolhapure, Anu Malik, Sonu Nigam, Madhur Bhandarkar, Abbas-Mastan, among others.
