The countdown to the biggest fashion fiesta of the year, MET Gala 2019, has begun and the fans are waiting with bated breath to see what their favourite stars will wear to the red carpet this time. Bollywood divas, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Deepika Padukone, will also be a part of this grand occasion. And just like every year, fans are super excited about their avant-garde ensembles. But before PC and Dippy wow us all again with their sartorial choices, let’s take a look at their past appearances at the MET Gala through this throwback trail.
If it’s MET Gala, Priyanka Chopra and designer Ralph Lauren have to go hand in hand and we cannot forget her 2017 outfit, the khakhi trench coat dress with a long train. It was indeed the most dramatic outfit ever! It swept everyone off their feet including Nick Jonas, where they first met. In 2018, the Bajirao Mastani actress wore a deep burgundy velvet gown for the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination theme at the MET Gala and bedazzled everyone with her gold bejewelled hood made out of red Swarovski crystals and gold beading.

Deepika also looked no less than a diva at the red carpet. She first appeared at the Met Ball in 2017 during the release of her first Hollywood flick, XXX: Return of Xander Cage opposite Vin Diesel. The leggy beauty looked absolutely dreamy. Although she ditched the theme ( Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between), Deepika looked stunning in her slip-dress from Tommy Hilfiger along with a flower crown. For 2018 Met Gala, the Chhapaak heroine wore a ravishing red draped outfit designed by Prabal Gurung and made the heads turn at the event.

This year’s theme is Camp: Notes on Fashion and we cannot wait to see what these two ladies will wear for the red carpet. Priyanka Chopra even announced that she and her husband Nick Jonas have made it to this year’s Met Gala Benefit Committee so it is definitely a double celebration for her. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more such updates and news.
