Amitabh Bachchan follows ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’; says ‘It is one of the most popular shows’

India’s most loved comedy television show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has fans and followers across generations. As recently revealed on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, superstar Amitabh Bachchan too is a fan of the show that has been running for over 14 years!

In one of the rounds of the popular quiz show – Fastest Finger First – Big B posed a question, “According to the title of a popular television serial, how are the spectacles of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah?” The options were: A) Straight B) Upside-down C) Curved D) Tilted. A contestant called Vimal answered the question correctly. Big B then shared with everyone that ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ started in 2008 and has aired more than 3500 episodes. When Vimal asked him whether he watches the show, Big B said that he does as it is one of the most popular shows.

‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ recently entered its 15th year and has aired over 3500 episodes. The shows along with the character universe are authored and created by Asit Kumarr Modi. It has also been converted into Marathi and Telugu versions titled ‘Gokuldhamchi Duniyadari’ and ‘Tarak Mama Ayyo Rama’ respectively, streaming on YouTube. The third season of its animated spin-off called Taarak Mehta Kka Chhota Chashma was also launched on Sony YAY! Neela Films Productions was recently awarded the Diamond Creator award from YouTube as well.
