URI: The Surgical Strike is the first release of the year, is the first hit of the year and now the film is also the first entry in the Rs 100 crore club this year. Today the film crossed the 100 crore mark at the Box Office and the ‘josh’ is still high.
On January 11 Uri opened with Rs 8.20 crore as its first day collections and went on to make good numbers in the following week. In just 10 days the film has earned Rs.106.84 crore and has turned out to be a winner for everyone involved. This is director Aditya Dhar’s debut and he has a 100 crore film in his kitty as his first-time score. Uri is Vicky Kaushal’s first single-hero project to make it into the club and the quietly understated actor is now the man of the moment. For Yami this is her second 100 crore film, the first being Kaabil back in 2017. Thrilled with the success of the film, Yami said, “Very happy with the kind of response that the film has earned. I am very grateful to the team behind the film; everyone has truly worked very hard.” The film is still running successfully and the numbers are surely going to increase and it might break some more records too.
Uri is based on the 2015 surgical strikes that the Indian Army carried out on Pakistani terrorists based inside Pakistan. Based on real events the film has been loved by audiences. The technical aspects, including the cinematography have been praised by everyone. Vicky Kaushal will next be seen in an untitled horror film. The Dharma Productions magnum opus Takht is also in the pipeline. Let us know in the comments section below if you agree that Vicky Kaushal lambi race ka ghoda hai!
