After entertaining the audience with its offerings like Devadasa (Telugu) and Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel (Malayalam), Viacom18 Studios has now announced six films in its South slate for the year 2019-2020. These six films will be made in Telugu and Tamil languages and are expected to release by the end of this year.
Films releasing in Telugu region include Manmadhudu 2 which is the rom-com sequel to blockbuster movie Manmadhudu, starring Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet Singh. Directed by Rahul Ravindran, it is slated for an August 9 release. Apart from this, films releasing in Tamil are Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (a romantic film starring Dulquer Salmaan and Rithu Varma) directed by Desingh Periyasamy. Next is an untitled film starring Chiyaan Vikram. The film is a drama directed by R Ajay Gnanamuthu. AR Rahman will also be a part of the film. The film is slated for an August 2020 release. The fourth film is titled Tughlak Durbar, a political fantasy starring Vijay Sethupati and directed by Delli Prasad. Another untitled project is a film starring Karthi and Jyothika in the lead. The film will be directed by Jeethu Joseph. The film is slated for an October 2019 release. Lastly, the sixth film is titled Sarbath. This movie will star Kathir and Rahasya in the lead role. Prabhakar will direct the film.
