Karan Johar’s Koffee with Karan is one of the most controversial chat shows. More often than not, celebrities end up making revelations on the show that they may regret later on. And that’s what happened to Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul recently. The duo’s episode aired recently and it drew flak for the sexist remarks Hardik made about women. Rahul’s revelation about his all-night party before a match surprised one and all too. The public backlash was so much that the BCCI has been mulling whether they should ban the cricketers or not? Amidst this controversy, while addressing a press conference, Virat Kohli reacted to the comments and even mentioned that he is waiting to hear from the BCCI if the players will be banned or not?
Virat mentioned that he and the team don’t agree with the remarks made by the duo on Koffee with Karan, as he said, “We as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers don’t align with those views, those were individual opinions. We are still waiting for a decision to be made. From the Indian cricket team’s point of view, this changes nothing in our beliefs in the change room, it does nothing to the spirit we have been able to create. Combinations will have to be thought of once the decision comes out.” What do you guys have to say about this whole controversy? Share with us your thoughts in the comments section below!
In the meantime, Hardik Pandya has come out and apologised for his remarks. The Koffee with Karan episode featuring the Indian cricketers has also been pulled down. We wonder what will happen next? Will they be banned or will they be given warnings? Will cricketers be banned from appearing on non-cricketing shows? Well, time will tell.
