Neil Nitin Mukesh has his hands full these days. Professionally, the actor’s juggling between two action flicks – the Prabhas-starrer Saaho and his own production Bypass Road which is being directed by his brother, debutant director, Naman Nitin Mukesh. And on the personal front keeping him busy are the two beautiful women in his life – wife Rukmini and their sweetheart daughter, the cutsie Nurvi, who he’s been too busy to spend too much time with. Talking about juggling ‘em all, papa Neil says, “I returned from a gruelling shoot in Abu Dhabi for Saaho and got straight into shooting for Bypass Road which is also a hardcore action film. And we’ve shot 15 straight nights of action, so yes, you can imagine the balance there.” The young dad adds that he hates missing out on family time and that Nurvi is top priority, but “work commitments are important too.”
Talking about doing the heavy action sequences back-to-back, the actor admits that it takes a toll, but the excitement keeps him going. The actor reveals that Bypass Road belongs to the rarely explored slasher/thriller genre in Bollywood and that he hopes to take the genre forward. Ask him if the film is similar to a Saw or Scream and he adds, “It’s a whodunnit thriller with lots of action.” And the actor reveals that they may be looking at a franchise here. “It has all the potential for sequels and prequels, and even stand-alone as part of the franchise, so yes that’s certainly what we will also consider next. The thrill element is a huge draw too,” adds Neil. Check out Neil in his action avatar…
Well, with Saaho and Bypass Road, looks like 2019 is going to be an action-packed year for the young actor and he’s certainly not complaining.
