Hina Khan’s latest film Lines is the talk of the town. The film won an award at the Montgomery International Film Festival in USA and also a nomination in the Best Picture category at the MIFF (Mumbai International Film Festival) awards. The song Jhelum featuring Hina Khan is getting a lot of attention from the audience for all the right reasons.

Hina Khan is a huge name on television and has her roots in Kashmir. According to Lines filmmaker Rahat Kazmi, she is very quick to adapt and is a very keen learner. She immersed herself in the role of Nazia and made us believe she was a local living there.

Jhelum’s writer and composer Rohil Bhatia agrees. “Jhelum is a song of separation that will tug at your heartstrings. The lyrics sing of the pain, that many lovers will easily relate to. Besides, having a star like Hina Khan featuring in the song makes it a hit easily. It’s half the battle won. I am grateful the song received so much love from the audience,” he smiles.

Produced by Rahat Kazmi Films, Lines is an innocent yet gritty tale of a young girl Nazia (Hina Khan) representing the pains of people of Kashmir who have been the sufferers of hatred between two countries. It is currently streaming on VOOT.
