Director Amit Sharma of Badhai Ho fame has roped in Ajay Devgn to play the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the coach for India’s football team during the 50’s and 60’s. Ajay is all set to start shooting for the film from Monday, 19th August.The director plans to shoot the film at various locations in India and abroad. Ajay Devgn has just returned from the shooting of his film Bhuj in Gujarat, and will start work on the football film right away. The project is set in the times of the golden era of Indian football. Naturally, as it is set in the 50’s and 60’s, the number of shooting days will be much more than for a regular film.
Incidentally, Devgn is also shooting for two other period films- Tanhaji which is a historical produced by him and Bhuj – the pride of India, which is based on the 1971 war.
