Rajinikanth, who recently entered the world of politics, made an announcement that his party won’t be contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. But the media still wanted to know which party he would be rooting for this year. Before the 2.0 actor could fly off to Mumbai for the shoot of his upcoming film Darbar, a bunch of journalists gathered outside his Chennai residence to get his views on the upcoming elections. Rajini addressed all the media questions with full gratitude and spoke in length about BJP, Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam and much more.

Talking about his political stance, Rajini said, “I have already told my fans my stand on elections, there is no change in it.” When asked to comment on Kamal Haasan seeking his support, the superstar said, “I don’t like to talk about this issue any longer. I request media channels to kindly not to blow the matter up and spoil our relationship.” Earlier, Kamal Haasan had expressed his wish for Rajini to join his party but looks like it’s not going to happen anytime soon.

Further, the Darbar actor also spoke about BJP’s Sankalp Patra that was released yesterday. He said, “BJP has released its manifesto yesterday. I have been saying for long about the linking of rivers, a dream that was there of the former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Bagartha Yojana – an effort which is difficult to achieve but can be achieved. This is mentioned in the manifesto. Once if they come to power, this should be the first thing they should take up and this will help the people more.”

On the professional front, his film Darbar is being directed by AR Murugadoss and it also stars Nayanthara in the lead. Backed by Lyca Productions, the film will finally go on floors tomorrow. For more such updates from the South film industry, Stay tuned to CineBlitz.
