After much to and fro about the casting of the Pati Patni Aur Woh remake, the makers have finally announced their leads. Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday have been zeroed in to reprise the roles made memorable by Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur respectively. However, curious eyes are now on the makers to see who will be cast in the role of Parveen Babi, who makes a cameo post the climax in the film.

You may recall that Parveen Babi had done a guest appearance in BR Chopra’s 1978 film Pati Patni Aur Woh! So, naturally industrywallahs and cine-lovers are excited to see which actress will be zeroed in for the role in this modern version of the film to be directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Juno Chopra (BR Studios) and T-Series. Although the makers may want it to be under wraps right till the screening, just like it was in the original film.

For those who do not know, the film was about a married couple played by Sanjeev Kumar and Vidya Sinha, who also have a son. The husband has an affair with his secretary played by Ranjeeta. Kumar cons her by saying that his wife is on death bed. The wife finally gets suspicious and starts spying on him and Kumar gets exposed in front of the two women. Ranjeeta exits from his life. But Kamleshwar, the writer then surprises you with a new entry into Kumar’s life that was Parveen.

One would really like to see if the makers keep this climax or change it? However, it will be interesting to know who will play the second ‘woh’ in the love triangle. The film goes on the floors in February. The original Pati Patni Aur Woh was a decent hit and did well in the metro cities. Anyway, who do you think should reprise Parveen Babi’s role in the Pati Patni Aur Woh remake? Do let us know in the comments section below!
