Will John Abraham play Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman if offered? The RAW actor gives a surprising answer

We all know that John Abraham is a true blue patriot when I come to India. And seeing his recent choices of films, we can clearly tell how he has been picking up some interesting stories that would make the nation feel proud. After, Satyamev Jayate and Parmanu, John will be seen in the espionage thriller RAW (Romeo Akbar Walter). He plays a RAW agent in the film who sacrifices everything he has only to serve his nation.  At the trailer launch of the film, while many questions were directed to John about his role, the actor also spoke on the recent Indo-Pak tension and the entire Pulwama tragedy.

When John was questioned about essaying the role of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman if offered, the actor had quite an interesting answer. He said, “Abhinandan is real life hero we should salute him and I would not mind playing his role if offered.” Well, the question was asked in context to the film Sanjay Leela Bhansali would be co-producing along with Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain and Abhishek Kapoor, that is based on the Balakot surgical strike. Considering that John is a producer himself, we wouldn’t be shocked if the actor himself chooses to make a film on the celebrated wing commander. Watch RAW’s trailer here:

At the even, John revealed, that the history of India is what personally interests him. Wouldn’t it just be amazing to see John essay another patriotic avatar in the form of Abhinandan on the big screen? Talking about his film RAW, John said, “The script is very compelling and I said a yes the first time I heard it. Robbie did incredible research and he comes from an army family. It’s an objective film, we are not depicting any side as bad.  But it’s not a typical flag saluting film.” He also commented on the Pulwama tragedy, “There needs to be a war against terrorism not against any country.
