Jaina ShahCreating history yet again, National record holder Dutee Chand became the first Indian woman track and field athlete to win a gold medal in World Universiade championship for 100m dash event, yesterday (July 10), in Napoli. Celebrating her victory, Indians shared their pride on social media and actress Neha Dhupia too, congratulated the athlete.
Neha took to her social media handle to celebrate the victory of the 23-yr old athlete and shared a picture with her tweeting, “History has been made by this unbelievable woman… congratulations @DuteeChand … you are a legend in the making! #jaihind.” Check out the tweet here:

Dutee has become India’s first ever openly queer athlete as she publicly revealed that she is in a same-sex relationship. Since then she has been encouraging people to speak publicly about their sexual preferences and has received support from many celebrities such as Richa Chadha, Twinkle Khanna and Divyendu Sharma.
