Yami Gautam is on a high professionally as her last two films Kaabil and Uri: The Surgical Strike have turned out to be hits. Today (April 20) the actress has two reasons to celebrate. While her recent release URI is still running ‘High on Josh’ in theaters and will complete 100 days on April 22, today (April 20) also marks seven years since she made her debut with Vicky Donor.
Soojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam marked her entry in the industry. Today as she complete seven years Yami feels blessed and says, “It’s been a great year so far. Today is the day, when Vicky Donor was released seven years ago, and what a momentous coincidence that it is also the 100th of Uri at the theatres. Both these films have truly etched a very important place in my career and I couldn’t be happier to have this day to celebrate these two amazing successes.” Further talking about working with the directors she said, “I’m thankful to Shoojit Da to have given me my first film and what a great debut to have and now Aditya Dhar for having me cast in a role people haven’t seen me do before. These two projects have been such tremendous successes and I’m grateful that I have two reasons to be in a celebratory mood for.”
Yami in the stretch of seven years has worked with many good directors and actors. She is especially known for portraying a visually-impaired character in Kaabil opposite Hrithik Roshan. We are waiting for her to announce her future projects.
