Zoya Akhtar’s latest achievement made father Javed Akhtar emotional

Earlier this week, Zoya Akhtar was invited to become a member of the Oscar Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences along with some more celebrities. It is definitely a huge honour and a matter of pride for the talented and highly skilled filmmaker. But more than anyone else, Zoya Akhtar’s father, Javed Akhtar, was happy and proud of his daughter’s achievement. The celebrated writer and lyricist took to Twitter to express his happiness over his daughter’s achievement.

Javed Akhtar wrote, “I am sure that fellow Indians will be happy and proud to know that my daughter Zoya Akhtar who is a well known writer- director has been offered the membership of Oscar Academy which is a rare honour.” Check out his tweet right here:

Zoya Akhtar has delivered some of the most amazing and path-breaking movies in the past decade. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do and Luck By Chance are some of her notable films. Her latest Gully Boy was recently screened at the Berlin film festival and will also be shown at the Melbourne Film Festival in August 2019.
