Though this season of Abhay promised to be the boldest, darkest and the wildest season yet, it fails to deliver what it has promised in its two early versions after succeeding to create its own niche in the thriller genre. Kunal Kemmu returns as the determined cop, Abhay Pratap Singh who faces many new unknown threats while trying to balance his professional and personal life, while Asha Negi returns as Sonam and Nidhi Singh as Khushboo, Abhay’s cop colleague. This season sees the entry of Dr. Anant Sinha (played by Vijay Raaz), the head psychiatrist of the city asylum who has a mysterious alter ego and a cult following of devoted disciples (including Vidya Malavade’s character, Nidhi).

There is also Rahul Dev’s character, Avatar who is a fearless fighter, sharpshooter, and a threat to Abhay. And lastly, there is the addition of Divya Agarwal and Tanuj Virwani who play social media influencers, Harleen and Kabir but with an extremely dark side. In this season, Abhay faces a new breed of evil; a dark force capable of manipulating anyone in the name of a twisted ideological belief.

After 2 successful seasons, it is challenging to come up with tactics to beat the success of earlier seasons, especially because challenges always push you to strive harder. The stakes are higher in Abhay season 3 as the crimes get darker and more sinister and Abhay is at a crossroad as his professional and personal life gets intertwined. This season charters into somewhat new territory both for the audiences and Abhay.

Kunal Kemmu retains his original flavour and performs extremely well whereas Nidhi supports him very well. Mention also ought to be made of Asha Negi as well as Vijay Raaz who prove that they are no less when it comes to displaying their prowess as actors. Tanuj Virwani has been wasted in this franchise as he has hardly anything to show his latent talent whereas Divya Agarwal is a talented addition to the franchise

To sum up, Abhay S3 which is a dark and twisted franchise which was started by B.P. Singh earlier is dark, twisted and unlike anything viewers have seen before. Ken has created a gripping alternate and weird universe by taking the genre of crime thrillers up a notch to make it exciting to see what is brewing in this season. There are in all eight episodes to watch this gripping series in not only Hindi but also Tamil and Telugu.
