badla review amitabh bachchan taapsee pannu engaging first half

Amitabh Bachchan – Taapsee Pannu’s Badla is one of the most exciting films of the year. The movie has generated a lot of buzz courtesy its thrilling content. And as it hits the screen today, people are quite excited to know who is murderer in the film. Produced by Shah Rukh Khan, the film also marks Amitabh and Taapsee’s reunion post Pink. Badla has hit the screens and looks like the Sujoy Ghosh directorial is connecting with the audience. In fact, our reviewer – Aakanksha Naval-Shetye has just completed watching the first half. And she feels it is engaging!

Talking about the first half, Aakanksha reveals, “The Badla promos and trailer prepared you for what to expect! And Sujoy Ghosh wastes no time in getting down to business. Naina Sethi (Taapsee Pannu), a leading businesswoman is accused of murdering her lover,  Arjun (Tony). While she confesses to being in an extra marital affair with him, she is adamant that she did not murder him. Badal Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan) is a lawyer sent by  Taapsee’s very good friend and lawyer, Jimmy (Manav), to take over in his absence. Bachchan soon discovers that while dealing with a blackmailer, Taapsee has got herself embroiled in worse situations than anticipated.” (Also Read: Exclusive! Here’s why Sujoy Ghosh ditched Kolkata in favour of Scotland for Amitabh Bachchan – Taapsee Pannu’s Badla)

Aakanksha further adds, “The story is gripping and you would want to know what really happened and how. The twists and turns are engaging.  Sujoy manages to build that suspense up successfully. Which is a win for a thriller. Taapsee and Amitabh are an interesting combo to watch. The film slackens in parts and loses a grip, but not long enough to lose interest. So now we are waiting to see how the mystery unravels.” Well neither Aakanksha nor us can wait to know what happens ahead. In the meantime, stay tuned to CineBlitz as we get you the full Badla review right here.
