Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet, Tabu’s De De Pyaar De has finally hit the screens today (May 16, paid previews). The romantic-comedy written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain has generated a lot of interest already. We got a chance to see the very first show of Akiv Ali’s directorial. And we have to say the movie seems really fun and interesting. Our reviewer, Aakanksha Naval-Shetye is seeing the movie and the first half seems easy-breezy.

Talking about De De Pyaar De, Aakanksha tells us, “The film’s trailer gave us a fair idea of what the film is about. It promises to be a laugh riot and the good news is that so far the film is turning out to be a full on entertainer that’ll keep you glued in. Ayesha (Rakul) is a fun-loving 26-year-old who meets a 50-year-old divorcee, Ashish (Ajay). And inspite of their 24 year age difference, the chemistry between the two is undeniable and the two hit it off instantly. Much of the humour centres around the age of the much older Ajay, but they’ll surely have you in splits.”

Adding further, Aakanksha says, “Ajay’s track especially with Jaaved Jaaferi, who plays his best friend and also psychologist, is hilarious. His track with Ayesha’s ex-boyfriend, played by Sunny Singh, is also too funny to miss. The film takes on many issues that would crop up in a relationship with that kind of an age difference. But punches it with laughter as well as romance. The emotional graph in De De Pyaar De is also well chalked out. While the more matured Ajay has a certain way of looking at life, Rakul is a stark contrast by sheer life experience. But the real fun begins when Ajay decides to take Rakul to meet his ex-wife Manju (Tabu) and his two kids – Ishika and Ishaan.”

Reviewing the performance of the stars in De De Pyaar De, Aakanksha shares some interesting points. She reveals, “Performance-wise Ajay and Rakul are amazing, easy and effortless. Their chemistry shines through and seems natural. Jaaved and Sunny make their characters memorable in their brief roles and are fun on screen. So far the film has been engaging on all counts including the music.”

“The first half ends with Ashish making Ayesha and Manju meet. The twist is really epic as Ashish introduces Ayesha as his secretary. What will happen in the second half? Well, we are excited to know,” concludes Aakanksha. Well, with the second half kicking off, Aakanksha seems pretty excited. And so are we! What about you guys?
