Amidst all the tension brewing between India and Pakistan, there is finally some good news for all Indians. According to the latest reports, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman is being released from Pakistan’s custody tomorrow and we think it’s the best piece of news that we have heard today. Calling it as a gesture of peace, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the news of Abhinandan’s release just a while back. And now the whole of India is celebrating and rightly so. In fact, #WelcomeBackAbhinandan is already trending on social media and a lot of B-town celebs have also come forward and expressed their happiness.
Actress Taapsee Pannu, who is currently busy shooting for Anurag Kashyap’s Saand Ki Aankh, was one of first few to tweet about Abhinandan’s release. She wrote on her Twitter timeline, “This is heartening. THIS is worth celebrating.”
Homeland actress Nimrat Kaur tweeted saying,“Excellent to know braveheart #WingCommanderAbhinandan will be home tomorrow. May this be the beginning to the end of all war murmurs. #AboutTime.” Vivek Oberoi, who will next be seen in PM Narendra Modi biopic, wrote on Twitter, “So glad to hear about the release of #WingCommanderAbhinandan. Our hearts swell with pride and joy and we are all waiting to welcome our brave heart. Jai Hind #WelcomeBackAbhinandan.”

Actress Richa Chadha took it a step forward by tweeting, “Thank you @ImranKhanPTI for the kind gesture and agreeing to release #abhinandanvarthman. This is a step towards peace and you took the lead!” However, it seems she is starting to face some backlash for thanking the Pak PM. Former model-turned-actress Gul Panag also shared these emoticons while expressing herself. For those unaware, Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by Pakistan army after his aircraft was shot down and it landed on other side of the border.
