Cricketers Hardik Pandya and Kl Rahul have been suspended by the BCCI till further investigation. The two disgraced cricketers have been called back from Australia after the appalling comments made by the duo on the chat show Koffee with Karan. The duo will face strict investigations, while their comments will be reviewed in detail by the cricketing board. With the social media storm hitting hard, right back at those derogatory and misogynistic comments, it was about time BCCI got formally involved and made their stand known. Well done BCCI!!

Earlier today, Indian skipper Virat Kohli had no other option but to comment on the situation saying, “We as the Indian Cricket Team and responsible cricketers don’t align with those views, those were individual opinions. We are still waiting for a decision to be made. From the Indian cricket team’s point of view, this changes nothing in our beliefs in the change room, it does nothing to the spirit we have been able to create. Combinations will have to be thought of once the decision comes out.” Big statements from the skipper, distancing himself very clearly from that standpoint, and rightly so.

The controversy started after the Koffee with Karan episode starring Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul aired on television last Sunday.  During the show, Hardik made numerous sexist and misogynistic remarks about women, even bragging about it, while Rahul mentioned how he was partying until the wee hours of the morning before a crucial cricket match. The only thing that screamed from that  hour-long chat show was how they look at women they have been with as trophies, lech at them dancing to see how they move,  coming across as insensitive and offensive and even ignorant, especially  in such a highly sensitive time with the ongoing MeToo movement, a burning current issue in society.
