Singer Arijit’s concert in the US has landed him in trouble. It is learnt that the person behind the organising company is a man on the run and a much wanted criminal in the Indian Police records. Reportedly Jai Singh, the organiser has been absconding since the past 30 years and Wanted in cases of drug peddling and video piracy by the Chandigarh police. Not only that, it is reported that Jai Singh, a resident of Punjab, had settled in Fermont in California some 30 years ago after seeking political asylum in the US.

Jai Singh was an active member of the Khalistan movement of Punjab in the 80’s, but fled the country, went to Fermont City and started a movement in the gurudwara to support the movement in India. He gained popularity as an activist and was nicknamed Fauji. Apparently he was even behind bars in the US for his illegal video piracy business. He ran a flourishing business of selling pirated copies of Bollywood films.

Singh owns a production company by the name Bright Brain Productions which organises Bollywood events and music concerts in the US. The latest event that was organised by his company was the Arijit concert. It is not evident whether Arijit was aware of the criminal record of the organiser, but he is in a huge mess… that is evident.
