Right from the teaser to the trailer and now the songs – Salman Khan’s Notebook starring debutants Pranutan Bahl and Zaheer Iqbal has already been getting a positive reaction and appreciation from the industry and cinema-buffs. People have been raving about the adorable chemistry the lead pair shares that we got a glimpse of in the sneak-peek, as well the picturesque locales of Kashmir. Add to that the stunning music pieces and the audience is anxiously awaiting the film’s release now. Pranutan and Zaheer have gotten an extremely positive response so far and their chemistry on screen is definitely a talking point.  Helmed by National Award winning director Nitin Kakkar, the film tells the story of two strangers, Firdaus and Kabir who fall in love with each other even without meeting one another. It seems like a dream film for romantic film buffs. And now Notebook has just dropped another song and we are totally enjoying it.

Notebook BTS video starring Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl

The latest song to be dropped from the movie Notebook is Bumro Bumro, the same folk number on which we have seen Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta dance beautifully in Mission Kashmir. While the similarities between the two songs may be quite a few, the Notebook song is not a remix of the Mission Kashmir song. The new track is actually a take on the original Kashmiri folk song. The lyrics of the song are completely different with a lot more Kashmiri folk flavour added to the lyrics and the sound. In the song, one can straightway pick up the heavy use of rubab (a Kashmiri musical instrument). The lyrics also standout and feel a lot more holistic and original and less dance numberish, leaving you with a smile. A situational song it has been picturized on Zaheer and the school kids. Throughout the song we see Zaheer dance with his school muchkins, they also repair a broken houseboat bit by bit.  At one point Zaheer dives into the lake to save his beloved notebook and dries it out page by page. Sung by Kamaal Khan and composed by   Vishal Mishra, they have done a really good job with this song that has its own flavour. Both Vishal and producer Murad Khetani have worked towards an original soundtrack for the movie and we are surely impressed so far. Produced by Salma Khan, Murad Khetani, Ashwin Varde under the banner of Salman Khan Films and Cine1 Studios, the film is directed by Nitin Kakkar of Filmistaan fame. With the film all set to hit the theatres on March 29, you stay tuned to CineBlitz for more such fresh updates.
