Sridevi Bungalow teaser: Priya Prakash Varrier’s Bollywood debut is insensitive, but shows the harsh reality of the late actress’ life?

Priya Prakash Varrier took the nation by storm last year by just her wink. And looks like she is going to stun one and all once again. No, it is not her cute antics, but her Bollywood debut film that we are talking about! The South sensation is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with Sridevi Bungalow, a film that seems to be a depiction of late superstar Sridevi’s life. The teaser of the movie was released yesterday and we have to say it has left us speechless. We feel that it is insensitive, but the visuals and story make us wonder if it actually shows the harsh reality of the late actress’ life?

In the Sridevi Bungalow teaser, we see Priya as Sridevi, an actress who has fans everywhere she goes. Like Sridevi, she is shown as the happiest person, who has been bestowed everything by God. However, the reality is that she is really unhappy and depressed and cries when she is alone. The end also shows the actress being drowned in a bathtub, similar to how the late actress passed away. While Priya and the makers have been mum about Sridevi Bungalow being an official biopic of Sridevi, the events in the teaser indicate just that! Was this what Sridevi went through? According to us, Sridevi Bungalow‘s teaser is insensitive. It’s not even a year since Sridevi passed away and even if it is a fictional story, using her name in the title is really disheartening to see. Though it might be showing real incidents, we are not so comfortable seeing this. Some fans are also disturbed by it and have expressed their opinion on social media.
