Drishyam 3 kicked off its earnings journey in grand fashion. The family crime thriller, helmed by Jeethu Joseph, grabbed a hefty Rs 42.40 crore gross across the globe on day one. This marks a powerful entry for the much-awaited sequel.
A big slice worth Rs 18.40 crore rolled in from local areas, while overseas regions added nearly USD 2.50 million, equal to Rs 24 crore in Indian terms. This achievement stands as the second-highest launch ever for a Malayalam production worldwide, trailing just behind L2: Empuraan.
When it comes to performance beyond borders, the Mohanlal vehicle went wild in the Middle East with about USD 1.35 million. It also shone brightly in the United Kingdom, gathering over USD 0.44 million. The picture pulled in roughly USD 0.42 million from North America, including USD 0.12 million from Canada. Other global spots together brought USD 0.29 million during the debut.
Drishyam 3 counts among the major hopes for Malayalam films this season. The first part became a massive success, and the follow-up skipped theaters because of pandemic restrictions. Yet this fresh chapter aims to satisfy loyal followers completely. As a result, the project carries strong chances to compete with leading earners at home and abroad like Vaazha 2, Lokah Chapter One- Chandra, Thudarum, along with several others.
Observers will watch closely to track its progress through the weekend and discover its final position in the charts.
