Actress Radhikka Madan kicked off the year on a high note with her movie Subedaar, earning plenty of acclaim and even kind words from director Hansal Mehta. She is now preparing for the upcoming release of Lust Stories 3, appearing in the part helmed by filmmaker Shakun Batra and sharing the screen with Ali Fazal.
Radhikka Madan has shared that landing this part took extra effort on her side. She explained that as a big admirer of Shakun Batra’s movies, she actively requested a tryout for Lust Stories 3 when she learned about the project, and fortunately, she secured the opportunity.
Even with several strong roles under her belt, the performer notes that she refuses to relax her standards. She pointed out that many talented people compete for every part available. If she delivers anything less than outstanding, there is no safety net waiting to offer her another shot. For her, each project feels like a critical moment where she must deliver her absolute best to keep moving forward in the industry.
She continued by saying she has waited her turn and put in the hard work over time. Nowadays, she sometimes picks from offers that come her way, but if a desirable project does not initially consider her, she willingly asks for a chance to show what she can do. She has no issue with that approach and lacks any sense of pride that would stop her. What bothers her is being dismissed without a fair shot simply because of her background. Getting turned down after trying her hardest still lets her rest easy, knowing she gave everything she had. She feels no embarrassment about queuing up again if needed, as she sees herself first and foremost as someone dedicated to the craft who will take any steps required to succeed.
Radhikka considers herself quite lucky to have received meaningful parts throughout her journey, ones that show women in deeper, more layered ways rather than just surface level. She gives credit to the trailblazing actresses who came earlier and opened doors, making space for better opportunities. She mentioned names like Kangana Ranaut, Vidya Balan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Tabu and several others who helped build this foundation. Her goal is simply to build on that progress and carry the momentum ahead.
