Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor has handed over his previous residence in the desirable Pali Hill neighborhood of Bandra West, Mumbai, on a long-term lease. Fresh records reveal he secured an impressive monthly payment of 11 lakh rupees for the property spanning a full five-year period.
The official lease document for this seventh-floor unit inside the Vaastu Building got officially recorded on May 19, 2026. Covering a generous 2,460 square feet, the space was acquired by the popular film personality back in 2016 for 35 crore rupees and featured stylish interiors created by noted designer Gauri Khan.
Business professional Aditya Shukla stepped in as the new occupant for the entire five-year duration, complete with a built-in 5 percent annual increase provision. Supporting paperwork also mentions a refundable security amount of 45 lakh rupees tied to the transaction.
Efforts to get a direct response from the Bollywood personality proved unsuccessful.
Ranbir Kapoor along with his wife Alia Bhatt relocated to the updated Krishna Raj bungalow, which serves as the longstanding family property in Mumbai. Sources place its current worth near 250 crore rupees, positioning it as one of the city’s priciest star homes, right next to famous addresses like Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat and Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa.
The residence carries the name of Ranbir’s grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor and went through extensive upgrades over multiple years until finishing in 2025. Constructed almost eight decades earlier, it came into the hands of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor around 1980. Family members apparently set aside a special area inside to honor Rishi Kapoor, who left this world in 2020 following his fight with leukaemia.
Not long ago, Ranbir also picked up a plot of ground at The Sarayu, an exclusive development featuring individual sites in Ayodhya from The House of Abhinandan Lodha, paying about 3.31 crore rupees. This 2,134 square foot section belongs to a sprawling 75-acre riverside project along the Sarayu that plans to offer a community center, more than 35 different lifestyle facilities, plus a large vegetarian high-end hotel run by The Leela group.
The actor is preparing to take on the iconic role of Lord Rama in the ambitious Ramayana movie series, expected to cost around 4,000 crore rupees across its two parts. The cast further features Yash playing Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol portraying Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey appearing as Lakshman.
