These images provide the first concrete evidence that the final chapter of the ‘Remembrance of Earth’s Past’ adaptation is officially underway. The production crew has returned to the UK for specific location shoots, even though the primary base of operations for the final two seasons has shifted.
While Season 1 was filmed predominantly in the United Kingdom, the production for Seasons 2 and 3 has largely moved to soundstages in Budapest, Hungary. This move allows the crew access to large-scale facilities necessary to depict the sweeping cosmic scale required to finish the story. Despite the primary move to Hungary, the recent shoot in East Sussex proves the show is returning to its roots for specific key sequences.
The show, created by ‘Game of Thrones’ duo David Benioff and D.B. Weiss alongside Alexander Woo, is adapting Liu Cixin’s complex trilogy.
