Priya Varrier: Overnight fame was a bit difficult to accept

Time and again, we have seen incidents of instant stardom badly affecting actors. Going through something very similar, South star Priya Prakash Varrier opened up about dealing with the instant fame and revealed what went down for her after a short clip from, Oru Adaar Love, went viral. The video got her the nickname, the “wink girl” and a lot of stardom but handling all the fame wasn’t easy for the young actress.

In an interview, she revealed that since it was overnight fame that came her way, it was a bit difficult to accept it. The pressures that followed were immense, but somehow the Sridevi Bungalow actress managed to get out of it. “Now, I can handle everything that comes my way normally,” she assured. As for her family, Varrier stated that now they’ve accepted things as they are and have accepted the reality. According to Varrier, they fully support her in selecting the film offers as well.

Talking about her choice of films and upcoming projects, Priya said that even though many filmmakers have approached her, she is making very careful choices as she wants to contribute the best to Indian cinema. On the controversy regarding her film Sridevi Bungalow, Varrier revealed, “I was also confused like everyone else. At the same time, a bit surprised that a teaser could rake up such controversies. Anyway, it was not intentional as far as I am concerned and finally the whole team cleared the matter in an open declaration.”
