After a long wait due to the pandemic, actor Vipul Roy is finally tying the knot with his fiance Melis Atici on February 13. Melis arrived in Mumbai for their big day earlier this month and the wedding preparations have begun in full swing!

Melis’ wedding outfit is being designed by fashion desiner Rohit Verma who is taking into consideration the Indian wedding and the bride’s Western background. “Lehenga was kept with Melis’ personality in mind and was designed accordingly. She didn’t want it very heavy. Coming from a Western background, they are not very accustomed to the heavy lehengas. We kept a very minimalistic embroidery keeping the Western elements in mind, keeping the fabric and texture in mind so that she can pull it off nicely. Two dupattas were given to add a dramatic effect, the whole lehenga was inspired by Vrindavan Gatha. That’s the reason the Sanskrit shlok was written on the blouse which was ‘saubhagyavati bhava’. It was resham kalabattu and zardosi work mixed with pearls and Swarovski crystals giving a new definition to the modern woman,” said designer Rohit Verma detailing the wedding outfit.

Earlier this month, Melis was received at the airport with a huge surprise as the FIR actor impatiently waited at the exit gate. He had carried a bouquet of rose flowers for his ladylove, and the moment they met, time seemed to have come to a standstill. They hugged and kissed, oblivious to the crowd present around them. There were high fives and high tens and the lovebirds couldn’t remain apart for another moment.

The couple will have a destination wedding in the presence of their closest friends and family. While the sangeet will be a Turkish-Greek style ceremony, the wedding will take place as per Indian traditions. The guest list has popular names like Ravi Dubey, Sargun Mehta, Sonu Nigam, Divyanka Tripathi, Vivek Dahiya, Jay Bhanushali, Mahhi Vij, Gurmeet Choudhary, Debina Bonnerjee, Kiku Sharda, Johnny Lever among others.
