After producing Kalank, which was one of Dharma Productions ambitious projects, Karan Johar will now take the directors seat in, Takht. Like Kalank, Takht too has an ensemble cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Ranveer Singh, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Bhumi Pednekar. While Karan’s last production venture, Kalank was being compared to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films, here’s what the filmmaker had to say about it.
When asked about whether he draws inspiration from SLB’s films, Karan said to a leading daily, “I have been asked that and other such questions. While I am a huge fan of SLB, as someone who loves his work, I understand that he has set the benchmark already. However, I am hoping that what I do with Takht will be completely individualistic. Takht will have its own energy and charm.”
Takht is expected to go on floors by the end of this year. For further details, stay tuned to CineBlitz for more updates.
