Holi is the festival of colours and also an auspicious day to start new things. No wonder, every year a film is released during this occasion. This year it’s Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra’s Kesari that’s hitting the theatres on the special day of Holi though there is no direct connection of the film to the festival in question as such. Anyway, with films come the groovy songs that stay with us for years even after the film is long forgotten. Remember Rang Barse from Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and Rekha starrer Silsila? The cult classic came out back in 1981 but the film’s popular Holi song is still played every year at the parties. Apart from this, during Holi, we also take fashion inspiration from our very own B-town beauties. There is an iconic Holi look of every actress which has remained evergreen, just like the songs. And we are here to list down 5 iconic looks of the Bollywood actresses that you shouldn’t miss this Holi.

Along the years, the trend of wearing white for Holi has been fading out but it never goes out of fashion. We remember Rekha wearing a plain white suit in Rang Barse with oxidized jewellery. But then we saw Priyanka Chopra wearing a little fancier chikankari suit in Waqt during the song Do Me A Favour Let’s Play Holi. Her dainty maang tika and the French braid is something that we will always remember.

Then in 2013, we saw Deepika Padukone in Goliyon Ki Ras-Leela Ram Leela’s song Lahu Munh Lag Gaya, wearing a typical Gujarati white ghagra with a colourful choli, accessorized with chunky earrings and a nose-pin. This look of hers stole our hearts back then and even today we skip a beat whenever she comes onscreen.

The same year, Ms Padukone gave another hit Holi song which was Balam Pichkari from Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. In this one, we saw a naughtier side of Deepika, enjoying the festival of colours along with her friends wearing just a casual shirt paired with denim shorts. Her look was simple but very chic and still remains iconic.

In 2017, we saw Alia Bhatt in the title song of the movie Badrinath Ki Dulhania playing Holi in a new way while donning multiple outfits like a ghagra-choli and a cropped top with harem pants. The Bhatt girl obviously looked pretty in all the outfits and made us fall in love with her all the more.
