’83: Ranveer Singh’s film gets a major boost – here’s how

Filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala has come on board as a producer for Kabir Khan’s sports drama, ’83. Nadiadwala Grandsons will co-produce the film with Madhu Mantena and Reliance Entertainment. Going by reports, Sajid and Madhu will also co-produce three more films over a period of three years.

’83 that tells us the glorious story of India’s first victory in cricket World Cup (in 1983), features Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, who was the captain of the Indian cricket team. The film, which will be made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, is also Ranveer’s first trilingual project.

Talking about associating with the project, Sajid said in a statement, “All four scripts are excellent. As a producer, one has to commit to the content more than anything else. Coming on board for ’83 is a feeling of personal joy, as I saw that glorious moment on live television. There are certain projects that develop an aura around them and ’83 is one of them.”
