The remake of Forrest Gump has been on Aamir’s mind for a long time now. We hear that he spent the last eight years trying to convince the makers of the Hollywood movie for the adaptation rights, and now he’s finally acquired the rights from Paramount. Meanwhile, Aamir revealed that the adaptation is written by none other than his Rang De Basanti co-star Atul Kulkarni. Yes, Atul Kulkarni is the writer of this much-awaited project. While talking about the same, Aamir went back to the time when they were shooting for Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s Rang De Basanti. He said, “Atul Kulkarni and I were talking during Rang De Basanti. He asked me my favourite film and I told him, Forrest Gump. Ten days later, he told me that I have written a script. We wish him luck for his debut project!
Lal Singh Chaddha will be directed by Advait Chandan and co-produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. Slated to release next year, the film will be shot in Delhi, Himachal and in other parts of North India.
